You have to realise that when looking at the likes of mens fitness magazine that the majority of
the models on their normally have a body fat percentage of around about 6 to 8 % which is pretty low. If you have
only just started training then it is likely that your body fat percentage will be over 20 % if not
higher.
On that basis you will also
probably have quite a bit of a tyre around your waist unless you already have a pretty good training regime. The
first thing to do therefore is get yourself down to the gym and do a body stat test. This will measure your overall
body fat, water, and your overall bmi. Although bmi can be a bit out if you are athletic anyway it should give you
a good idea of how much weight you need to lose.
Have a quick look at the video
below from http://sixpackabshortcuts.com These guys have proven what you need
to do and how you need to do it and it is not what you think .

The 5
myths of getting six pack abs.
1 - All fat is bad for you. Some fat will get
you fit. A good amount of fat, it is the fats that are good fats you need to consume, coconut oil,
almons, walnuts, olive oil. you need some fat but good fats. Do not eliminate fat. Eating too much
sugar and refined carbohydrates is bad for you.
2 - Diet is the key to everything, Diet is
important, however dieting lowers the metabolism and your body doesn't want to burn more calories,
Lowers metabolism and builds fat. Eat less burn less. Keep your metabolism high.
3 - Cardio is all you need to get ripped. They
don't do much cardio at all. Its good to do, if you do 2hrs a day then it might help. Cardio burns
calories when your doing it but not afterwards.

The key is to keep burning the calories after your workout. Keep eating and keep the metabolism
high. You can eat pizza and everything because it is burnt off the next day.
4 - Supplements - Over rated- you can spend a fortune on these
and not get anywhere. You don't need any supplements you can consume the vitamins from your daily food. Not lifting
or eating right which again increases your metabolism. No pill will give you abs. Protein is great and better if it
is provided naturally rather than through protein powder. Protein powder does not absborb as well as food. You can
get a placebo affect with supplements around a 10% increase which means you become reliant on them. This can be
detrimental to your training overall if you run out.
5 - Ab gizmo's and gadgets - Won't do you any good at all.
There are so many ab exercises you can do without having to resort to using a machine to achieve great abs. If you
want to get in shape then you have to do the work. they might isolate a little part of your abs but won't develop
the muscle overall.

See most people forget that it is mainly down to your
metabolism when it comes to a 6 pack ab workout. You can try all the fat burning pills and exercises that you want
too, but unless you get that metabolism going from early in the day you are stuffed.
I would also get a personal trainer to address your form when
trying for six pack abs. Mainly from the perspective that he will be able to show you whether or not your form is
correct. If you look at most people in the gym then you will find that their form is terrible.
For example you will mostly see people throwing their
bodies forward when exercising this is not isolating the muscles, but causing other muscles to take on the strain.
So how will you improve when your training like this. You can't you have to isolate the muscle to make them grow
and that includes when you are doing ab workouts.
